Seller's Description

If you are looking for safe, "wireless" way, to trigger older model flashes, which may have high PC sync contact voltages*, without any risk of damage to your modern digital camera, then read on!

I've tried this sensitive, reliable and robust optical slave flash trigger with my 45 series Metz flashes (45 CT-1, 4 and 5) and I'm well impressed.

*This optical sensor accepts trigger voltages up to a MAXIMUM of 100 VOLTS DC.

Please note that this sensor will NOT fire Canon EX models.

A digital version of this sensor is available for use with these models. Please see my other listings for details.

The sensor has a female pc (Prontor Compur) socket to enable connection to your flash via a suitable male pc lead.

The approximate range is about 75 ft (22m) or more, depending on the guide number of the Master flash.

This slave trigger works best in an indoor environment as bright sunlight reduces the range. It requires no additional power. Estimated fastest shutter speed : 1/200s.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

1. Any optical slave can be fooled into early triggering if your Master flash produces a "pre-flash" for white balance adjustment, for example. In many cases, this "pre-flash" can be turned off, thereby avoiding the problem.

2. Canon EX flashes are not recommended for use as slaves with most optical triggers, including these, as they sometimes misbehave. However there are no reported problems when using a Canon EX flash as the Master flash.
