Interesting banknote with the watermark ARE depicted two women without niqab. It considered as progressive step of woman position in Egyptian society. The banknote bears the date 1940 which is the date of law, but in fact for there is eagle on the flag above the women it should be in period 1982-1991. The signature of Hamed, who was minister of Finance till 1986 made date range as short as 1982-1986. The banknote were issued due to lack of coins experienced in country. Beautiful condition.
