A stranded French teacher and her girls join an island beach bum paid in booze to spot enemy planes. During WW2, a man persuaded to live on an isolated island and spot aircraft finds himself responsible for a teacher and several students, all female. During World War II South Sea beachcomber Walter Eckland is persuaded to spy on planes passing over his island. He gets more than he bargained for as schoolteacher Catherine Frenau arrives on the run from the Japanese with her pupils in tow!
