Seller's Description

A gorgeous hand-tinted sepia real photographic German propaganda postcard of the First World War showing a view of matlows on an English ship taking down the Union Jack and replacing it with the Stars and Stripes, overseen in the distance by a German u-boat and accompanied by the words 'England verleugnet seine Flagge', or 'England denies her flag', so no doubt dating to 1917, when the United States entered combat.

Published by Neue Photographische Gesellschaft, No 358, c.1917.

Postally unused.

Excellent condition, with minimal corner bumps.
