Interesting heavy coin issued by old branch of Board of Works in nice condition.. After the accession in 1851 the young emperor Wen Zong under the title Xianfeng just in a few month faced with Taiping rebellion which lasted till 1864.. To maintain army the coins had to be minted, but the copper mines were in hands of rebellers.. That was the reason to issue the high denominations from 10 up to 1000 cash.. As the result the board produced 1 cash coins till 1857 constantly reducing the mintage..
