Seller's Description

On DVD or VHS:

Putting a Northern California focus on the SEABISCUIT phenomenon, this highly obscure documentary provides an entertaining look at the horse, jockey Red Pollard, trainer Tom Smith and owner Charles Howard.

It highlights some of the background of
San Mateo’s historic Bay Meadows racetrack and recalls the San Francisco roots of the legendary SEABISCUIT.

This feature is LOADED with historical film footage of SEABISCUIT as the Howard family contributed tons of film from their own personal family archives - most footage is shown for the first time in this crown jewel of a production.

The most engaging interviewee is Farrell Jones, who was a stable boy for Howard in the 1930's.

A MUST-SEE for all SEABISCUIT fans and anyone interested in watching great old footage from the 1930's in general - a delightful piece!
