Seller's Description

On DVD or VHS: Picture above shows Billy Woodward, Jr., with his wife Ann (Crowell) Woodward in happier times

Around 2 A.M., on October 30, 1955, former chorus girl and New York socialite Ann Woodward awoke in the bedroom of her Long Island estate. Terrified that a prowler was in her mansion, she grabbed a shotgun and fired two shots. Unfortunately she killed her husband, Billy Woodward, heir to a huge banking fortune. "I did it," she screamed at the policemen, "I thought it was a prowler." Everyone from the gossip mongers to the police had their suspicions. How could she not have known it was her husband who was standing in front of her? Or did she? If so, why would Ann want to kill Billy Woodward?

In this extremely obscure feature, the story of the mysterious 1955 murder of Billy Woodward, owner of the legendary Belair Stud and 1955 Horse-of-the-Year, NASHUA, is re-told for its 50-year anniversary. Filled with rare footage of the actual murder scene and treasured family films of NASHUA unveiled for the first time...Don't miss this one...a classic piece of history from racing's golden age and a mystery that has still not been solved!

AS AN ADDED BONUS...a priceless segment is added after the main feature:

NASHUA, the 1955 Woodward Stakes winner, with vintage film footage of him when he ruled supreme in addition...NASHUA is shown at 30-years-old retired at Spendthrift Farm with his long-time groom, Clem Brooks.
