Direct TV HR44-500 Receiver ONLY

Received this from a neighbor of ours. I called DirecTV to see if this receiver is recoverable/usable. They refused to answer my question and insisted that if I wanted to check if this receiver was usable to 1st set up an account. I didn't want to commit to this as there would be a service charge.

Receiver was working at time of disconnect. Selling as is no returns. The 1 TB hard drive should be in working condition. If nothing else this Should be recoverable. No items are included receiver only.
