Seller's Description

Original Argentine 29 inch x 43 inch Poster for the 1964 Luis Buñuel Drama DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID (LE JOURNAL D’UNE FEMME DE CHAMBRE), based on the novel by Octave Mirbeau and starring Jeanne Moreau, Michel Piccoli, Georges Géret, Françoise Lugagne, Daniel Ivernel, Jean Ozenne, Gilberte Géniat, Bernard Musson, Jean-Claude Carrière, Muni and Claude Jaeger.

Jeanne Moreau is Celestine, a beautiful Parisian domestic who, upon arrival at her new job at an estate in provincial 1930s France, entrenches herself in sexual hypocrisy and scandal with her philandering employer (Michel Piccoli). Filmed in luxurious black-and-white Franscope, Diary of a Chambermaid is a raw-edged tangle of fetishism and murder—and a scathing look at the burgeoning French fascism of the era.

The poster is in very good folded condition. There is a long diagonal crease. There is minor wear at the bottom of the vertical fold. There are a few edge nicks.
