#193 Cinnamon Spice Quilt
Finished Quilt Size: 49” x 66” (122cm x 165cm)
Our quilt-as-you-go technique for curves results in this double-sided quilt. The pattern also features a split French binding, all sewn by machine, to match the two different sides of the quilt.
Materials Needed
Fabrics used in this project are of the “Nature’s Glow” line by Northcott
• 2 yd (1.8 m) of a large scaled fabric to be used as back panels
• 3 yd (2.7 m) of a dark subtle print to be used as front sashing, bias strips, and back part of the split binding
• 2 yd (1.8 m) for the dome-shaped pieces in the blocks and the front part of the split binding. (Fussy cutting will require more fabric and depends on the repeats in the print. The cover quilt was fussy cut from a 4” repeat and required 2¼ yd I 2 m of fabric.)
• Choose four fabrics for the corner pieces in each block. You need 3/8 yd (35 cm) of three of these fabrics and 1¾ yd (1.6 m) of the fourth one which will also be used as back sashing.
• 1/8 yd (10 cm) for the light centers in the blocks
• 1¾ yd (1.6m) of fusible batting (regular batting with at least 50% cotton content is an option in combination with a water soluble glue-stick)
• matching threads
• ½” bias tape maker (optional)
• extra firm template plastic
• sharp utility scissors
• adhesive sandpaper dots or extra fine sandpaper and some tacky glue
• rotary cutting equipment, including a small rotary cutter for the curved pieces
• fine pins with long shafts
• pencil
