Seller's Description
Al Jolson, the master showman of American theatre, whose career spanned fifty years of American Music history, was billed as "The World’s Greatest Entertainer".
Record #23612 is a Personality Series release from the 1940's. In excellent condition with a decent remaining gloss. No cracks or skips and the one edge chip does not interfere with the play, but careful placement of the needle is required on the "B" side. Minor scuffs and scratches and some background hiss are to be expected. Otherwise, very clean and pleasant sounding.
This is record #2 (I have 3) from an 4-record set of music from the 1946 Columbia Picture, "The Jolson Story" with orchestra directed by Carmen Dragon. They are being offered separately for those wishing to acquire a single record. Multiple purchases will realize some savings on combined shipping.
Side 23612-A presents "California, Here I Come", and side 23612-B lists, "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody", both vocals by Al Jolson.
