Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1973 François Truffaut Drama DAY FOR NIGHT (LA NUIT AMERICAINE) starring Jacqueline Bisset, Valentina Cortese, Dani, Alexandra Stewart, Jean-Pierre Leaud, Jean Champion, Jean-Pierre Aumont, Francois Truffaut, Nike Arrighi, Natahalie Baye, David Markham and Bernard Menez.

A wonderful film about making a film. Truffaut’s sense of unconfined joy while making a movie, despite all the trials and tribulations we see depicted, is utterly ifectious. Truffaut himself plays the director trying to make a romantic movie in Nice plagued by the whims of a neurotic actor (Jean-Pierre Léaud), an aging but still forceful Italian diva (Valentina Cortese), and a British ingenue haunted by personal scandal (Jacqueline Bisset).

Poster art by Rene Ferracci (1927 -1982). A French artistic director and poster designer. He is, with Clément Hurel, Boris Grinsson, Michel Landi and Jean Mascii, one of the most prolific creators of cinema posters in France in the second half of the 20th century.

The poster is in very good folded condition.
