Seller's Description

Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1951 Henry King Historical Drama DAVID AND BATHSHEBA, written for the screen by Philip Dunne and starring Gregory Peck, Susan Hayward, Raymond Massey and Kieron Moore.

After King David sees the beautiful Bathsheba bathing from the palace roof, he enters into an adulterous affair which has tragic consequences for his family and Israel.

The advertisement artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.

The Advertisement is in very good condition.
