This item: A PRIME COLLECTABLE A Peter Cushing Scrapbook of 60 pages including covers. Peter Cushing, especially toward the final years of his life, cut and pasted a variety of pieces into scrapbooks; this is one of them bought from The Canterbury Auctions Tuesday, 30th July, 1996 (a number of scrapbooks were sold). These are large items with card style pages in which to attach pieces. Each scrapbook is a wonderful insight into this special man's interests which generally reflect his interest in art (many beautiful pieces), the war / military (especially World War I), old buildings, his humour, his love of Nature, his friends etc. Each is a very personal piece. Whilst many pieces were simply carefully pasted on to a page, some have Peter's handwritten dating and some his fuller identification of the piece. This scrapbook features Peter's pencil handwritten description of the Rapp's Corps illustration (shown), The Great Detective cutting of a book review on Sherlock Holmes (not shown), Map of Greyfriar's School as Peter was a young fan of the Frank Richard's Billy Bunter stories (not shown), another cutting of a review titled Past Master with reference at the bottom of the article to the book 'Sherlock Holmes Scrapbook' which had a foreword by Peter and this piece is identified and dated in Peter's hand. Rare
