Melanie Griffith, Lucas Black. A young boy is taught to follow his heart by his aunt, who has just disposed of" her husband and is off to LA to become a star. This is a great movie of which no one has ever heard. Melanie Griffith did a stellar job of acting. That breathy baby voice of hers undermines her great talent. Antonio Banderas as director was spot on. See if you can find which of Lucille's children is the actual child of Griffith and Banderas. Hint she looks just like her father.

This is a period piece that reminds of us how horrible life could be for Black and female folk. This movie is never dull or boring. It is a very entertaining way to learn about America's frightening past. The casting was superb. I hope these Amazon reviews will "grow" the audience for this film. Then there is good old word of mouth ... friends telling friends " ya gotta see this movie ".
