Corinthian ProStars Club Gold Edition: Manchester City - Sun Jihai

Brand new in box, Corinthian ProStars Club Gold Edition: Manchester City - Sun Jihai.

Corinthian released the Club Gold Club Edition 2004 set on the 16th of August 2004, which featured only 8 figures! Of these 6 were brand new sculpts, 5 of which would never again be released as a ProStars figure!​​​

Italian international Antonio Cassano was sculpted for the very first time and released in the home kit of Roma, a stunning sculpt and one which is still highly collectible today and one that is seldom seen for sale.​

His Roma team mate Walter Samuel was also sculpted for the first time and it was initially planned for him to be in Roma kit, the transfer rumour mill at the time had him either staying at Roma or moving to Chelsea, however in a shock turn of events he moved to Real Madrid, so to not waste the sculpt Corinthian took the decision to paint him into Argentina home kit. The only other ProStars figure of Samuel would be in the Select 500 range in Inter Mian home kit.​​

Also from Italy, Dida was released for AC Milan complete with trademark hair style, while fellow keeper Sebastian Frey got his one and only Corinthian release, painted in the home jersey of Parma. Completing the contingent from Serie A is no nonsense centre half Igor Tudor, another fine sculpt and he would also never again be released as a ProStars figure, making this version highly collectible.​​​

The final 3 released from this collection are from the English Premier League, with Chinese international full back Sun Jihai, this would be the only Corinthian figure of Jihai but one that is still readily available in today's market. Peruvian international Nolberto Solano was painted into the home kit of Aston Villa and capping of the set is Fulham manager Chris Coleman, who would never again be released by Corinthian, with his figure proving very popular.​​

The figures of Coleman and Dida were not available to buy as singles from Corinthian direct, they were only available as part of the 8 figure set, priced at £21, which was superb value given the high quality of the sculpts in the set.​​

There are 8 figures in the set, all of which were released in a window box, on a Gold base and coming with collector card.

The price being charged is based on age of the figure and how it was not available to purchase on a commercial basis.
