Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here is a 1930's, 12 inch, dance music (waltz) recording. Overall, this record is clean, with minimal scratches, but the usual hiss is to be expected, though for its age still plays exceptionally clear.
Side 49906 presents "Dearest One", a medley waltz, and introduces ''Your Eyes Have Said Remember'', performed by Prince's Dance Orchestra.
Side 49919 presents "Down The Trail To Home Sweet Home", another waltz, played by (Harry) Yerkes Jazarimba Orchestra.
