Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here is a 1930's, 12 inch, dance music (waltz) recording. Overall, this record is clean, with minimal scratches, but the usual hiss is to be expected, though for its age still plays exceptionally clear. One small chip appears on the edge but does NOT affect the play.
Side 49695 presents "That Naughty Waltz", a medley waltz, and introduces ''Golden Hours'', performed by The Columbia Orchestra.
Side 49724 presents "My Isle Of Golden Dreams", another medley waltz, which introduces ''Your Eyes Have Told Me So''.
