Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Here are two tango fox trots in excellent condition on Columbia's "Exclusive Artist" label. Mostly clean and glossy with only light wear. No chips, skips or cracks.
Paul Specht signed with Columbia Records in 1922, playing both with a larger dance ensemble and with a smaller, more jazz-oriented unit called The Georgians. Specht's ensemble was the first orchestra to broadcast for the RCA company, and was the first ensemble to film after the end of the silent era. In 1929, Paul Specht's Orchestra was asked to play at the inauguration of Herbert Hoover, chosen over Paul Whitman. You can hear why with the two superb selections offered here.

Side 80899 features "Spanish Moon" and side 80903 presents "La Mome Tango".
