Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered now is one of the records from the Hal Kemp Memorial Album. Well preserved and just shy of near-mint status! Faint wear and great audio. Virtually no background noise. Overall, an excellent rating.
Side C 42-7 features a Hart-Rodgers collaboration, "Where Or When", from the 1937 musical, "Babes In Arms".
Side C 42-8 lists "There's A Small Hotel", from the 1936 Hart-Rodgers musical, "On Your Toes". Both are performed by the legendary orchestra of Hal Kemp, with vocals by Maxine Grey and Bob Allen.
