Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered now is one of the records from the Hal Kemp Memorial Album. There appears to be some water damage to the A side label and water staining to some of the grooves. This discoloration does not affect the sound of the plays, which is quite good. Other wear is light and incidental scuff and scratch marks. Overall, a VG grading.
Side C 42-3 features Cole Porter's, "You're The Top", from the 1934 musical, "Anything Goes".
Side C 42-4 lists "Lullaby Of Broadway", from the 1935 Warner Bros. musical film, "Gold Diggers Of 1935". Both are performed by the legendary orchestra of Hal Kemp, with vocals by Bob Allen and Skinny Ennis.
