Original 1950s Re-Release British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1931 Charlie Chaplin Romantic Comedy CITY LIGHTS starring Charles Chaplin, Virginia Cherrill, Florence Lee, Harry Myers, Al Ernest Garcia and Hank Mann.
The writer-director-star achieved new levels of grace, in both physical comedy and dramatic poignancy, with this silent tale of a lovable vagrant falling for a young blind woman who sells flowers on the street who mistakes him for a millionaire. Though this Depression-era smash was made after the advent of sound, Chaplin remained steadfast in his love for the expressive beauty of the pre-talkie form. The result was the epitome of his art and the crowning achievement of silent comedy.
The poster is in very good condition with 2 vertical fold lines, a vertical crease in the right border and some edge tape marks. Will ship in gorilla proof tube
