Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Double-Bill Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1959 Jean-Paul Le Chanois Drama THE CASE OF DR. LAURENT starring Jean Gabin, Nicole Courcel, Sylvia Monfort, Arius, Daxely, Michel Barbey, Yvonne Gamy, Georges Lannes, Balpetré and Orane Demazis.
The film stars Jean Gabin as a Paris-based doctor who tries to spread the gospel of Natural Childbirth. Working in a cloistered rural community, Gabin runs up against the stone walls of fear and prejudice. His theories are proven sound when unwed mother Nicole Courcel gives birth within Gabin’s methodology.
Plus the 1959 Howard W. Koch Thriller THE LAST MILE, based on the play by John Wexley and starring Mickey Rooney, Alan Bunce, Frank Conroy, Leon Janney and Frank Overton.
In a death row cell block nine inmates are scheduled for execution. Then "Killer" John Mears (Rooney) comes along. His viciousness infects the environment and his plans to break out of prison are the catalyst for tragedy.
