Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1946 Basil Dearden Ealing Studios Priosner-of-War Drama THE CAPTIVE HEART, based on an original story by Patrick Kirwan and starring Michael Redgrave, Jack Warner, Mervyn Johns, Jack Lambert, Basil Radford, Jimmy Hanley, Gordon Jackson, Ralph Michael, Derek Bond, Rachel Kempson, Guy Middleton and Gladys Henson.
A series of stories about the lives and loves of nine men in a Prisoner of War Camp over five years. Location shooting in the British occupied part of Germany adds believability.

John Bainbridge was born in Sydney, Australia in 1918 and educated in Melbourne at the Swinbourne Art School and National Gallery School. He was appointed art director of the National Theatre of Melbourne in 1940. In 1945 he moved to England working as an exhibition designer, poster artist, documentary film maker, theatre set and costume designer. He was elected Fellow of the Society of Industrial Artists in 1959.
The trade advert is in very good condition with a vertical centre fold.
