Original Vintage, Rare, Hammer Films Scripts
All items offered are genuine release (usually 1st), old, cinema movie items and so had a 'life' before sale, so unlikely ever to be mint.
This item: A PRIME COLLECTABLE. An original, vintage screenplay for this Hammer swashbuckler movie featuring Peter Cushing in one of his most loved roles and a particular favourite of Peter. The tale is based on Russell Thorndyke's Dr. Syn books. Unfortunately for Hammer Disney had a movie Dr. Syn, alias the Scarecrow out starring Patrick McGoohan, so Hammer had to change the name and Peter's Dr. Syn is now called Clegg / Arne. What makes this particular script special is that it was the script of the late Len Harris (1916 - 1995) the Hammer camera operator who shot 'The Curse of Frankenstein', 'The Brides of Dracula', 'The Curse of the Werewolf ' and more. His name is written to the top right of the front cover. The script by John Elder (Anthony Hinds) is dated 18th September, 1961. The script comprises 103 pages ( there are many more as added pages are in this script 45a, 80a, 81a etc). It is card covered with a cut-out pane for the title and bound by two silver brads.
