DESCRIPTION
Great antique HUGE HEAVY 5.2kg leather Holy Bible containing the Old & New Testaments. Lovely ornate leather cover with two ornate brass clasps and brass rim around cover edges. Contains lovely colour full page illustrations and colour map illustrations. No publication date but these bibles were published circa 1870s and 1880s. Photo 3 shows wear to the top and bottom of the cover spine but it does not impact on the page binding inside. Photo 23 shows a close up photo of the wear/split at the top of the spine cover. Photo 4 shows the lovely gold gilt page edges and brass clasps. Photo 5 shows a close up of one of the clasps. Photo 24 shows some pencil writing on the inside cover. Binding and pages inside are in great condition especially as the Bible is around 144 years old.
Measures 34cm tall x 25.25cm wide x 9.25cm thick. Weighs 5.2kg.
