Butterick 3317 Sewing Pattern: Baby Christening Set Layette consisting of: Jumpsuit, Hooded Gown, Bunting, Dress, Bonnet, Blanket, Pillow Sham. The size is stated as “One Size”. Ca. 1965 (I think, as there is no actual date on this pattern and 1965 was my best guess).

The pattern pieces for the jumpsuit have been cut out. The rest of the pieces are uncut. Please see “The Pattern Inventory” below, for a list of what pieces have been cut out and what pieces are uncut.

LAYETTE & CHRISTENING PACKAGE View A Jumpsuit with zipper from neck to foot has Peter Pan collar and full length raglan sleeves. Vtew B Hooded Gown with front snap closing has drawstrings in the hood and lower edge and full length sleeves with mittens all-in-one. View C: Bunting with zipper and buttoned tab closing. Views D and F: Long and short dresses with purchased lace and ribbon trim has round neckline, front and back tucks, front button trim, back slit opening with button and thread loop closing and short sleeves gathered at cap with elasticized hem. View F: Bonnet with purchased lace trim and ribbon drawstring Views G and H: Blanket and Pillow Sham with purchased lace trim all around. Pillow sham also has opening for pillow.

NOTIONS: Jumpsuit A: 18” Neckline Zipper and ½” Bias Tape (single fold). Hooded Gown B: 3/8 Td. of Snap Tape. Bunting C: 14” Neckline Zipper and one ½” (line 20) Button. Dress D or E: 3/8 yd. of ¼” Elastic and Four ¼” (Line 12) Buttons and One ¼” (line 12) Flat Button.

FABRICS: Soft or Crisp fabrics such as Brushed Nylon, Terry and Flannelette for A. Blanket Fleece for B and C. Batiste, Satin, Broadcloth, Dotted Swiss and Satin Back Crepe far D.E.F,G and H. Lamb’s Wool and Flannelette for Blanket Underlining.
Obvious diagonals - unsuitable. One-way designs -use nap yardage and layouts. Allow extra yardage to match plaids or stripes.

Piece 6 Collar has a 2 inch rip in it. See Pictures.

The envelope Measures approximately 8¼ X 5¼ X ¾ inches (21 X 13.3 X 2 cm) and weighs approximately 3 ounces (86 grams) Shipping weight will be 120 grams in a 27 X 19 X 2 cm envelope.

The pattern pieces & instructions are in good used condition. The envelope has some writing on it and part of the flap has been cut off. (see Pictures).

Don't you just hate it when you buy a pattern and there is a piece missing, or some pieces are cut to a smaller size then listed or worse yet some of the enclosed pieces are not even for the pattern you bought?

That is why I take the time to inventory every piece of the pattern. I give you an accurate list of what is in the package, no surprises. Also, whenever possible, I show pictures of the front & rear of the pattern envelope, the Cutting guide and the size chart. The suggested materials and notion lists are also supplied in my listings.

Please Note that I ship patterns via Canada Post letter mail, in a plain envelope and the listed postage is for that method. My Patterns are stored in a plastic storage bags and they are shipped in the same bag (if weight allows) placed inside of a standard envelope. If you require any other packaging/shipping please let me know prior to paying for the item.

Of course, as always, I combine shipping and all stated postage includes free insurance.
