Original 1838-1840 10 1/8 inch x 7 inch engraving titled BISHOP LATIMER
Portrait of Hugh Latimer, bust-length, in profile to the right, in a fur-trimmed chimere over his rochet, a Canterbury cap on his head, a vignette of Ridley and Latimer at the stake below surrounded by scrolling foliate designs with two putti, Fame with a trumpet and laurel wreath above.

After Adriaen van der Werff (1659 - 1722). Adriaen van der Werff was born near Rotterdam, and taught there by Cornelis Picolet and Eglon Hendrik van der Neer. He worked in Rotterdam, where he died. From 1697 he was also court painter of the Elector Palatine in Düsseldorf. He was a genre, figure and portrait painter.
