Original 1833 10 inch x 6 5/8 inch Etching and Engraving titled BEPPO
Beppo: A Venetian Story is a lengthy poem by Lord Byron, written in Venice in 1817.
Engraved by Henry Thomas Ryall (1811 - 1867). An eminent nineteenth-century line, stipple and mixed-method engraver, Henry Thomas Ryall was known for his portraits and his sporting, historical and genre subjects. After studying engraving techniques under Samuel William Reynolds, Ryall lived and worked in London. Ryall was appointed historical engraver to the queen, in which capacity he engraved the portraits of many members of the royal family.
