Original World War 2 industry trade magazine vintage ad for BELL TELEPHONE SYSTEM Telephone Exchange on Guadalcanal. Just getting the wire laid was a tough problem. Keeping it intact in bombings, shelling and adverse weather is a 24 hour proposition. Wire repair crews are made up of four men. Three stand guard while the other works. From a story by Sgt. James W. Hurlbut, Marine Corps Combat Correspondent. The Guadalcanal Tel and Tel covers well over a thousand miles of wire. Old 1943 WW2 era propaganda advertisement.
