Additional descriptive notes (if applicable): the full text on the back of the postcard reads: To and From India. The Rival City and Hall Lines were both purchased by Sir John Ellerman in 1901. Services were operated to Bombay until 1948. Expressing the map of the Indian Sub-Continent as an elephant presents a striking illusion.
