Bad Hall is a market town in the Steyr-Land district in central the Austrian state of Upper Austria. Its name, Bad Hall, means "salt bath," a reference to its long history of baths and spas. It is renowned for its saline springs, strongly impregnated with iodine and bromine. Although the springs have been known since the 8th century, Hall has been noted for them only since 1855, when the springs became the property of the government.^[2]

Bad Hall ist eine Stadtgemeinde und Kurort mit 5043 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Jänner 2016) in Oberösterreich im Bezirk Steyr-Land im Traunviertel. Der zuständige Gerichtsbezirk ist Steyr-Land.

Bad Hall liegt ca. 10 km an der Bundesstraße 122 westlich von Steyr, sowie über die Bundesstraße 139 ca. 30 km südlich der oberösterreichischen Landeshauptstadt Linz/Donau.

Die Ausdehnung beträgt von Nord nach Süd 6,4 km, von West nach Ost 4 km. 6,8 % der Fläche sind bewaldet, 74,4 % sind landwirtschaftlich genutzt.

Die Gemeinde besteht aus der Ortschaft Bad Hall. Katastralgemeinden sind Bad Hall, Großmengersdorf und Hehenberg.
