Avengers 156 is in FN/VF, 157 is in VF/NM and Black Panther # 11 is in GD/VG!
AVENGERS # 156, Feb. 1977, FN/VF! Jack Kirby cover art! "The Private War of Doctor Doom!" is by Jim Shooter, Gerry Conway, Sal Buscema and Pablo Marcos, as The Vision, caught by Dr. Doom, convinces Doom to allow the Avengers free so that they might work to stop Attuma, whose bid for world domination would affect Doom's own plans! Wonder Man, the Whizzer, and Sub-Mariner revive from their battle against Attuma and go in another sub heading for Atlantis. The Beast, had snuck aboard Attuma's vessel and is planning to stop the villain from using the cell stimulator device in his bid to take over the world! Sub-Mariner and Wonder Man dive down to Atlantis to stop Attuma but are attacked by Tyrak, easily defeated and Tyrak takes them back to Attuma. When the other Avengers and Dr. Doom arrive, they battle Attuma and a cell stimulator-enhanced Tyrak. The Avengers easily defeat Tyrak and with Doom's aid reclaim the cell stimulator! Doom intends to make off with the cell stimulator, getting him into a battle with the Avengers. Doom's plot is foiled when the Vision uses his powers to destroy the device!
AVENGERS # 157, March 1977, VF/NM! "A Ghost of Stone!" by Conway, Don Heck & Marcos sees Iron Man, Yellowjacket, and the Beast are in the control room of Avengers Mansion when the wall is smashed by the stone statue of the Black Knight! The three heroes are subdued before they learn who their attacker is. The statue of the Black Knight explains that after months of being inert in the basement of Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum a strange being reanimated him, and since then he has gone on a mission to get revenge on those he believes responsible for his current condition: The Avengers! Captain America & The Wasp fall and The Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man arrive at the mansion to find a ravaged Jarvis, who warns them of the Black Knight statue. It defeats both Wanda and Simon in battle…then The Vision shows up, and the Black Knight statue cannot hurt him due to the Vision's density powers. It forces the statue to remember the events wherein Dane Whitman sacrificed himself to save the Defenders from being trapped in the past, and that his soul had left its body and now inhabits the body of his 12th-century ancestor. Unable to accept this, the furious statue attacks the Vision once more. However, since the Vision had converted his body into the density of diamonds, the statue only succeeds in destroying itself, ending its threat!
BLACK PANTHER # 11, Sept. 1978, GD/VG. Jack Kirby story & Art! Mike Royer inks story and Joe Sinnott Inked the cover!
