ALL BUTTONED UP
Feature your favorite fabric!!! Make this your daily carrier. Fun and different technique - buttons are the secret!!! With 4 pockets on the outside, you’ll have a spot for everything.
(Includes directions for optional inside pockets)
MATERIALS
FABRIC
FABRIC A: BOTTOM and POCKET LINING 1½ yards*
Pink fabric in picture above. Not suitable for directional fabric.
FABRIC B: FRONT, BACK and SIDE POCKETS 1¾ yards*
This is the focus fabric - use your favorite!!!
Note: if your Fabric B has a vertical print which runs selvage to selvage, you will need 2¼ yards. There will be leftovers!!!
*HANDLES - Additional Fabric A or B - your choice!! ¼ yard
INTERFACING 1 yard
Use In-R -Form Single-Sided Fusible foam based batting by Bosal
Always use a steam iron to fuse. Let interfacing cool before sewing.
’ HANDLES - ¼” diameter plumbing tubing 5 feet
BUTTONS -
10 round buttons 1” or larger in diameter for a layered look add 10 smaller round buttons
2 sew in magnetic buttons by Bohin item #90456
Optional -1 heavy duty magnetic button
Other Tools: Sewing Machine, machine needles- Microtex 90/14 or Janome’s Purple Tip needles. Matching thread. Hand sewing needles. Parchment paper. Iron with steam. Scissors (both large and small), rotary mat, 60mm rotary cutter, acrylic rulers, chalk or Frixion pen, seam ripper, measuring tape, pins.
Helpful to use: Big board ironing board.
