Antique Victorian Large Solid Sterling Silver and Porcelain Picture Lovers Sweetheart Brooch with Box - Hallmarked Birmingham 1900
This beautiful antique Victorian large Sterling Silver Lovers Sweetheart Brooch features a central Porcelain panel with a transfer print picture of two lovers in Georgian attire seated on a bench - The picture is signed.
The transfer print process was invented in England around 1750, variously attributed to the Battersea enamel factory, the Worcester china factory, and the firm of Sadler and Green of Liverpool. The process was further developed independently by both Josiah Spode and Josiah Wedgwood after 1760.
The Porcelain panel sits snugly within an ornate Silver frame with an outer scroll design with a love heart at both top and bottom.

The Brooch has a secure pin and a 'C' style clasp. It comes complete with its box shown.

The Brooch measures 2.5" x 1.8" and weighs 28.2g.The Porcelain picture panel measures 1.6" x 1.3".

It is Hallmarked on the rear for Birmingham 1900 and also has the Lion Passant.

It is in excellent antique condition as shown - Age Victorian.
The box measures 3.4" x 2.5" x 2cm. It is in good antique condition as shown with a good working hinge and a secure clasp.
