Fob Jewel with Eagle Head, Aqua, Ruby, Sapphire

On offer, a beautiful antique brooch which speaks for itself. It is splendid, beautifully crafted in a myriad of stones and details. We date it to mid Victorian period.

This brooch features a central dome gold tone with a round massive purple/amber glass cabochon, surrounded by filigree work and mounted with many brilliant cut and cabochon crystals and beads in coral, aqua, ruby and emerald colors. Only 5 of the small stones are missing, but you have to look quite closely to realize that, and we are sure you could have them replaced easily. We used to repair antique jewelry, but no longer do this.

This brooch has an ornate crown and eagle ornament on top and 3 charming tassle charms dangling at the bottom.

This brooch is engraved in the back with a NUMBER: 9233.

The brooch may have been gold plated at some point, we are not sure. There are signs of tarnish or fading, but this only adds to the timeless charm and mystery of the piece.

We have not come across anything as large and impressive as this gorgeous brooch.

Measures: 4 3/8” full length; Centre Cabochon dome measures 1 6/8” in diameter and approximately .7/8” tall.
