Seller's Description
A GENTLEMAN OF FRANCE
Being The Memoirs Of
Gaston De Bonne, Sieur De Marsac
By Stanley J. Weyman
The Works Of Stanley J Weyman
Leather Bound Thin Paper Edition
Volume IV
London
Smith Elder & Co
1914
The book was once the property of Rose Gaskell Evans. The daughter of an American Ambassador who resided in Torquay and wife of Captain Cedric Robert Kyffin Crossfield.
As far as I am aware.
Her initials and a date appear on the front coverboard.
The book measures approx, 11cm by 17.6cm and contains 412 gilt topped pages.
The text is complete and fully collated.
The text block is tight and free of foxing.
There is some light toning present on the endpapers.
The full, red, soft board leather bindings are firm with some edge and surface wear/marking and nibbling to the spine ends.
Please take a look at the photos as they form part of the description.
