The books measure approx, 12cm by 17.5cm and contain approx 483 and 490 marble edged pages respectively.
The books are a School Prize presentation set from Repton School.
There is a prize book plate applied to the front pastedown on volume one and the leather bindings bear the School armorial.
Good solid binding with occasional scattering of foxing, mostly around the endpapers.
The gilt decorated leather bindings are bumped with boards visible at some corners.
There is varying levels of toning and staining to the fascias.
the hinge joints are firm and solid with no cracking.
The lower rear board of volume two has been banged with some creasing to the board and a chip to the bottom of the spine end.
Some labels are missing from the spine.
