Seller's Description
Early 1900s Scandinavian folk art Owl Kitchen Towel holder. The size is approximately 10" x 8" and the holder says: "What care we for wind or weather when we're tied up here together". The rack measures 9 3/4" X 8", with a 9" wide bar. This was a "craft kit" from the late 1800s to early 1900s and I have seen only one other like it, during my years in the business. I acquired it from an old farm estate in South Dakota. There is some writing on the back in pencil, but I can't make it out - have fun trying! The wood has a semi-glossy finish and with the camera flash, looks a bit washed out. I have left this in the "as found" condition, with no touch-ups. This would make a very nice, one-of-a-kind gift for your favorite antique lover! Please click on the pictures to enlarge them for a better view of the details.
