Seller's Description
This bowl is approx. 10 1/2" in circumference and 3 1/2" in depth. The colors are faded and the gold painted rim has also faded. The edges are slightly fluted to make this look like a leaf. There are a few chips on the rim. There are no cracks or crazing.
This bowl was made by the Edward J. Owen China Company of Minerva, Ohio in 1922. The "Gold Medal" back stamp is in reference to their gold medal win for semi-porcelain at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis in 1904. For more information on The Owen China Company, see Lehner's Encyclopedia of U.S. Marks on Pottery, Porcelain
