*************
Anlaby is a village located just west of Kingston upon Hull, and is in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is bordered by Anlaby Common (with which it forms the civil parish of Anlaby with Anlaby Common), Willerby, Kirk Ella and Hessle. It lies to the east of the B1232 road and on the B1231 road. Anlaby was named after the viking Anlaf who founded it.[1]
It has a number of shops, as well as the village hall, St. Peter's Parish Church, several cafes/restaurants and a gym. These are situated on the conjoined roads of Wilson Street and Hull Road. The shops included a number of charity shops, a small supermarket, a grocers, a Post Office, a pharmacist, a Fish and Chip shop, a Pizza/Burger/Kebab shop (Gino's) and a dedicated newly opened Pizzeria, a Chinese takeaway, two bakers, and the award winning butchers Brian Fields.
