Seller's Description

Printed monochrome postcard showing an iconic view of Sergeant William Al-Che-Say, or Alchesay, the chief of the White Mountain Apache, seated on logs and with his Winchester rifle in his hand. The original photograph was taken by Andrew Miller, who came from Silver City, New Mexico to Globe, Arizona in 1886 to photograph the Apache and operated a gallery in Bisbee briefly in 1897. Miller was killed in 1899.

Publisher not stated, No 6 (84), undivided back, c.1905.

Postally unused.

Very good condition, with slight corner bumps.
