Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1949 Harold French Comedy ADAM AND EVELYNE starring Stewart Granger, Jean Simmons, Helen Cherry, Wilfrid Hyde White, Edwin Styles, Raymond Young, Helen Cherry, Beatrice Varley, Joan Swinstead, Peter Reynolds, Patrick Barr, Dora Bryan, Francis De Wolff, Irene Handl, Desmond Llewelyn, Miles Malleson, Edie Martin, Marianne Stone and Mona Washbourne.
Rich Granger takes his dead friend’s daughter (Simmons) under his wing and soon romance is in the air. A demure romance with shades of ‘Pygmalion’.

Gilbert Allard, often cited as Georges Allard, was a poster designer active in France from the late 1940s to the late 1960s. He is the author of more than 80 posters for films distributed in France; his posters are signed G. ALLARD. He produced posters for the advertising agency Jacques Fourastié
The poster is in good folded condition with separation along the right end of the top horizontal fold, a jagged hole in the border at bottom centre and other minor faults.
