Seller's Description
Acoma New Mexico Native American Storyteller
Signed "K Miller, Acoma, New Mexico"
The Acoma Native American Pueblo is located about 60 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This handcrafted, handpainted pottery piece sits about 6 inches high and is about 8 inches long from her hair to her toes. There is a lot of detail in this piece, it is painted on both sides.
The central figure is the female storyteller. She, and the other figures, have deep mahogany skin and black hair. Her hair is pulled back into a ponytail and banded with a pinkish ribbon. She wears a black one shoulder dress and pinkish belt with with black decorations around her waist. A black ribbon necklace with turquoise colored beads is around her neck. She wears turquoise bracelets on both wrists and a turquoise ring on her right hand. Her white high moccasin boots have black soles and black, yellow and turquoise decoration.
Five smiling children clamor for her words.
A little boy hangs onto her right shoulder. He wears a pinkish shirt, black pants and yellow high moccasin boots.
A little boy wearing a bright blue shirt and black pants sits on her right knee. He holds what appears to be a green watermelon in his arms. He has brown high moccasin boots.
A little boy wearing a pinkish colored shirt with a yellow pattern and black pants crawls across her left leg. He has yellow high moccasin boots.
A little boy wearing a yellow shirt and black pants sits on her left arm. He holds a white cat in his arms. He has pinkish high moccasin boots.
A baby swaddled in a white blanket decorated in yellow and black lays in her arms.
The piece is signed on the back of the boots "K MILLER of ACOMA, N.M." This is shown in photo 7.
The piece is a little dusty and the white boots appear soiled. It's not possible for us to tell if that is part of the original design or they have become soiled while on display. The little boy in the yellow shirt appears to have a crack in his left leg. We can't tell if it is a crack in the paint or pottery and we would recommend sealing.
Photographs 1-6 and 12 were taken under incandescent light, photographs 7-11 were taken with flash.
This high value item ships insured and will need to be signed for by the recipient.

We do not accept Offers. We do not respond to offers made. The price is what it is. We’d love it if you would pay more, because we need a bookmobile, but we won’t take less.

CONTACTING YOU AFTER YOUR PURCHASE:
Occasionally, we have questions after your purchase. Sometimes we need to confirm a shipping address. If we have questions, we will contact you through ebid’s messaging system. BUYERS LOCATED OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES - PLEASE NOTE:
Receipt of your item may be delayed if it has to go through custom inspection in your country. Occasionally, this adds days or weeks to delivery.
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.
Customs fees are normally charged by the shipping company or collected when you pick the item up. These fees are not additional shipping charges.
We won't under-value merchandise or mark the item as a gift on customs forms. Doing that is against U.S. and international laws.
During peak shipping times, it may take weeks to have your item clear customs. We’ve had some items arrive in Europe in a week, but a package to South America once took six weeks to arrive! Again, you’ll have to check with the customs office in your country if your item hasn’t been received.
Restrictions in your country may not allow us to ship certain items.
Many countries do not allow shipments of coins or precious metals, for example. Some media, including computer software, music CDs or DVDs may be restricted for sale outside the United States.
VHS and DVDs are formatted differently for different countries.
If you are purchasing a VHS videotape, please note the format your machine requires before you make your purchase. Most of our tapes are NTSC format (it is specified in the listing what the format is) which will not work in most video players in Europe and Australia. We routinely contact anyone overseas who purchases a VHS video to ask them to check if their machine can play an NTSC tape before we ship.
Many DVDs also have a specific format by country. If you are purchasing a DVD, please make sure the DVD is a format that will play in your machine.

Civil and criminal penalties apply to the theft of copyrighted material.
If you see our photographs or text elsewhere on eBid or online, please let us know.
We’ve found our “stolen” photographs and text on other e-commerce websites many times. In order to help reduce fraud and image theft, you’ll notice that most of our photographs have our logo or other label appearing on each image which obscures a small part of the item.
It is possible that anyone who uses stolen images or text may not even have the item they are trying to sell and that their intention is to defraud you. We don’t want anyone to use our images or text to try and sell you something they don’t have.
Please be savvy and safe while shopping online. Your local public library should be able to help you find great resources to protect yourself and your family while shopping online.
Thank you for reading this. You are the kind of educated consumer with whom we want to do business and whom we aim very hard to please.
