Val Camonica is one of the largest valleys of the central Alps, in eastern Lombardy, Italy. During World War I battle lines stretched along its eastern border, across the Adamello Group.
Photographs by Robert Vaucher (1890 - 1977). A Born in La Brévine, Switzerland. L'Illustration, the famous French newspaper, gave him a post as war correspondent which, from 1914 to 1919, took him from the Dardanelles to Serbia, Albania and finally to Russia.
