The ships of many smaller towns are featured e.g. Green's Harbour, The Rams, Point LaHaye, Mall Bay, Cape Broyle and the larger centers like Carbonear, Grand Bank, St. John's, Port aux Basques. Robert has encircled the province with this book, beginning at the tip of the Burin, then to the many ports of the South Coast, proceeds up along the West Coast, the Labrador, an exciting tale from the tip of the Great Northern, Notre Dame Bay, Trinity, ships from the Straight Shore, Conception and Bonavista Bays, the Avalon, the Southern Shore and finishing with a "tale or two" from Placentia Bay.

Again, as with many of Robert's previous books, many stories have a follow-up of people and family left behind to cope after certain shipping disasters.
