Description: This book is just super. one of the best thing about it is the inclusion of the two plaid designs, Chottie's and Rainbow plaid both which are not in any other book. All of the designs are graded from easy to advanced and Ms Christensen takes you from the fundamental of needlepoint to its advanced finished concepts like hassocks, picture framing etc. one of the things I have always liked was her using the black glass to see the tonality of the piece -- and whether it is where you would like it. You can also do this to a lesser degree with tracing paper put over the piece though it is somewhat muted. While some of them are obviously dated from the '70's OTOH the '70s are back in style so that may not put needlepointers off. Still if you prefer to forego the '70's patterns there are many more to enjoy and learn with -- bargello belts and ties; pocket and checkbooks and then of course lovely farm, city and winter scenes.
