Album Notes
Personnel: Steve Austin (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar, sampler); Br?nn Dailor (drums); Michael Hyde (bongos).Audio Mixer: Steve Austin .Recording information: 91.1 WRVU (??/1996-10/1999); Austin Enterprises, Clinton, MA (??/1996-10/1999); Austin Enterprises, Nashville, TN (??/1996-10/1999); Bedroom Floor Of Apartment, Nashville, TN (??/1996-10/1999); Europe (??/1996-10/1999); Middle East, Boston, MA (??/1996-10/1999).Editor: Steve Austin .Constructed to incorporate just about every recording format available, Live Till You Die does just that, moving from multi-track live recordings to In the Eyes of God session outtakes to radio recordings to four-track demos to tape loops to audio captured from VHS and transferred. As such, it is not as effective as the band's studio efforts, but it does offer a glimpse into the creative process -- as well as the live realm -- of this challenging band. Today Is the Day also tackles a few peculiar covers, including Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love," the Beatles' "Why Don't We Do It in the Road," and Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game." It may function as a stop-gap between albums, but it's an engaging listen. ~ Patrick Kennedy
