Seller's Description
An unused reproduction Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad porcelain on metal sign by Ande Rooney. This porcelain train advertising sign reproduction is handmade in the U.S.A. using a process popularized in the early 1900's. The sign has a white background with the D&RGW logo on it. The sign reads ' Main Line thru the Rockies, Rio Grande'. The outer circle of the logo is yellow with black lettering. 'Rio Grande' is in red lettering.
The sign measures 11 inches in length and 7.5 inches tall. It weighs 17.6 ounces.
The sign is still wrapped in its original plastic wrapping. The plastic has a few scratches. The scratches do not appear to go through the plastic. This sign was obtained new at the Colorado Railroad Musuem in Golden, Colorado. The museum no longer carries this sign. THIS IS THE ONLY RAILROAD SIGN I HAVE. I DO NOT HAVE A COLLECTION.
