I bought this game at a charity sale to support flood victims in southern Alberta.

ABOUT THE ODDWODLD QUINTOLOGY

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is the second part in the five part Oddworld Quintology. Each game reveals more about the strange and bizarre universe that is Oddworld, and its varied inhabitants.

Thus far, we've accompanied Abo in the first installment, Oddworlrd: Abe's Oddysee, and in an extra game, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. In Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Abe meets Munch for double the Oddworld punch including a new 3D view of Oddworld. Even though you can play as either Abe or Munch, the struggle doesn't get any easier as the forces of industry continue to decimate the planet for their own greedy gains.

Future games of the Odd world Quintology introduce new dilemmas, new villans, and most importantly, new and unlikely heroes like Abe and Munch. Be forewarned the inhibatants all live on Oddworld together, and as the story unfolds, characters that are overlooked could prove really important in the big picture. Oddworld is so big that we've only just scratched the surface and barely explored the depths of THE ODD.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is a 2001 video game, originally released for Xbox. It is the third game made by Oddworld Inhabitants. It is the third chapter of the Oddworld Quintology, following Abe's Exoddus.

Plot

Taking place after the events of Abe's Exoddus, the story begins with a froglike Gabbit named Munch, whose species has been commercially fished to near-extinction and their eggs harvested for a delicacy known as "Gabbiar" and their lungs used as replacements for those of the Glukkons. While calling for fellow Gabbits using echolocation, Munch hears what sounds like another Gabbit call and investigates, only to fall into an animal trap which is making the noise. Munch is taken by two Vykkers to their hovering fortress, Vykkers Labs, and has a sonar device implanted in his head. Using the device's electrical properties, Munch breaks free and escapes the Labs with the help of furry but vicious creatures called Fuzzles.

Meanwhile, the Almighty Raisin tells the Mudokon hero Abe of Munch's plight, and commands him to find and rescue the Gabbit. The two manage to find each other just as Munch falls from the Labs' "poop chute", and by working together the pair find their way back to the Raisin, who informs them that the last can of Gabbiar will soon be auctioned at Vykkers Labs, and that large stockpiles of Mudokon eggs are also being stored there. To obtain the Gabbiar, Abe and Munch must help a lazy and incompetent Glukkon named Lulu to become rich by forcing other Glukkons to donate their Moolah (the Industrial currency) to "Lulu's Fund."

Abe and Munch infiltrate several corporations and possess the Glukkon executives in order to force them to donate to the fund, thus elevating Lulu to the highest Glukkon status of "Glockstar". When Lulu travels to Vykkers Labs to join the auction, Abe and Munch infiltrate the fortress intending to rescue the Mudokon eggs. What happens next depends on the actions of the player throughout the game.
